Earrings
Custom Earrings
Pair-matched stones, soldered posts, and a hinge you can trust.
Earrings fail in ways rings do not: posts snap, hinges loosen, and one earring always ends up heavier than the other. All three are avoidable at the design stage.
Matching a pair
We match by millimeter size first, then color, then clarity. Two 5 mm stones can differ by 0.3 mm and nobody notices on a table — but the wearer notices, because one earring sits differently. Every pair is weighed and measured before setting.
Posts and backs
Posts are soldered, not press-fitted. 0.8 mm posts suit most lobes; 1.0 mm for heavier stones or stretched piercings. Back options: friction, screw-back (most secure), or flat-backed labret style for cartilage piercings.
Hoops and huggies
The hinge is the whole piece. Too much tension and the click fails; too little and the hoop hangs open. Ours are tested through 200 open-close cycles before packing — which is also why we do not make 8 mm hoops in 1.0 mm wire; it deforms.
Sizes that suit the ear
- Studs: 3–4 mm for a second piercing, 5–6.5 mm for a lobe, 7 mm+ for a statement.
- Huggies: 8–11 mm inner diameter, sitting close to the lobe.
- Hoops: 12–30 mm; above 30 mm the weight matters more than the diameter.
- Threaders: 60–90 mm drop, in a chain light enough to hang straight.
Single earrings
We make single earrings for asymmetric styling at half-pair pricing, and we remake a lost earring from the original drawing if you still have the reference — which is one reason we keep every design on file.
